【内容摘要】菲尔德女士于1893年出版、1912年再版的《中国童话》一书，系其以口述录记为方法，从汕头当地民众口头中记录下来的民间故事集；菲氏创编、串联全书的故事“射失之箭”，显示了菲尔德以不同视角交织呈现地方社会、女性内部知识的努力，亦集中体现了她对中国女性接受教育、自主择偶、救己助人的理想寄托。菲尔德以特定群体（女性）口头叙事作为采录对象，以现代的田野作业方式进行录记，构筑了《中国童话》在民间故事学术史上不应忽视的重要地位。

The Collection and Compiling of Female Folk Oral Narration in A. M. Fielde’s Chinese Fairy Tales

Abstract: Mrs. Fielde’s book Chinese Fairy Tales, first published in 1893 and reissued in 1912, represents her method of oral recording. It comprises a collection of folktales she gathered from the oral traditions of the local populace in Shantou. The pivotal story in the book, “the Strayed Arrow,” demonstrates Fielde’s concerted effort to interweave local society and women’s internal knowledge from different perspectives. It also encapsulates her ideals concerning Chinese women’s access to education, autonomous marriage choices, and their ability to help themselves and others. Fielde selected oral narratives from a specific group (women) as her collection subjects and employed modern ethnographic methods for documentation, establishing the significant place of Chinese Fairy Tales in the academic history of folktale studies.
