【内容摘要】文章择要评述了近年西方学者有关中国南方民间文学的研究成果。西方学界对南方民间文学的兴趣点主要集中在仪式经文与史诗、民间故事、中越边境的历史与传说、瑶族文献《评皇券牒》等。海外学者的研究，也引发了国内学者对民族志英译等话题的热烈讨论。西方学者基于不同学术传统形成了旨趣相异的研究方法与思路，以贺大卫、费伊、安乐博、伊莱等人为代表；现有研究整体体现出的广阔的国际视野、多学科理论方法的运用等，亦值得国内学者借鉴。

Studies of Western Scholars on Chinese Southern Folk Literature in Recent Years

Abstract: This paper comments on the academic fruits of western scholars on Chinese southern folk literature, focusing on ritual scriptures, epics, folk tales, history and legends on Sino-Vietnamese border, and Yao people’s document “Charter of Emperor Ping”. Such scholars as David Holm, Fay Beauchamp, Robert Anthony and Eli Noah Alberts have surfaced as international celebrities studying Chinese folk literature，whose academic achievements are worth learning by Chinese counterparts．
